Cherokee Recreation and Parks raised more than $29,000 for the Laken Hope Foundation through its first-ever Live Like Laken 5K held Saturday at Hobgood Park in Woodstock, Georgia. The event drew 731 participants, both in-person and virtual, with proceeds directed toward supporting women’s safety initiatives, nursing student scholarships, and improvements in children’s healthcare.

“It was a beautiful morning for the race, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, vendors and volunteers for making it all possible,” said Race Director Skyler Cox. “The support from our community was truly inspiring and I hope it will be a day we all remember in honoring Laken.”

The race winners were Nathanael Spivey, the top male finisher with a time of 18:18, and Isabella Kennison, the top female finisher with a time of 20:47.
