Cherokee Recreation and Parks Raises Over $29,000 for Laken Riley’s Foundation

Cherokee Recreation and Parks successfully hosted the Live Like Laken 5K, raising over $29,000 for the Laken Hope Foundation. The event attracted 731 participants, supporting women's safety, nursing scholarships, and children's healthcare improvements. Winners were Nathanael Spivey and Isabella Kennison, with times of 18:18 and 20:47 respectively.

Cherokee Recreation and Parks raised more than $29,000 for the Laken Hope Foundation through its first-ever Live Like Laken 5K held Saturday at Hobgood Park in Woodstock, Georgia. The event drew 731 participants, both in-person and virtual, with proceeds directed toward supporting women’s safety initiatives, nursing student scholarships, and improvements in children’s healthcare.

“It was a beautiful morning for the race, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, vendors and volunteers for making it all possible,” said Race Director Skyler Cox. “The support from our community was truly inspiring and I hope it will be a day we all remember in honoring Laken.”

The race winners were Nathanael Spivey, the top male finisher with a time of 18:18, and Isabella Kennison, the top female finisher with a time of 20:47.
