Kevin J. Lanier is now the fire chief of Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services, the county announced.

What’s Happening: Lanier takes over the department after 25 years working for Cherokee County.

What’s Important: Lanier replaces Eddie Robinson, who is retiring. The county described Robinson’s tenure as spanning decades but did not give a specific number of years.

The Path Forward: Lanier brings more than two decades of experience inside the same department he now leads.
