Kandi Burruss is being sued. The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star’s Blaze Steak & Seafood restaurant allegedly owes more than $154,000 in unpaid rent, according to a lawsuit filed Monday in Fulton County.
💰 Why It Matters: Atlanta residents who frequent the southwest Atlanta restaurant may soon find it closed if the financial dispute isn’t resolved.
🏢 What’s Happening: Montego Pacific Inc., the landlord, claims Burruss and the restaurant owe $154,139 in back rent, plus another $56,495 for property repairs and fees. The lawsuit gives Burruss 10 days to pay what’s owed.
🔍 Between the Lines: The landlord says the restaurant is in breach of lease and will need to pay an additional $12,083 monthly in interest until the debt is settled. Neither Burruss, her legal team, nor Montego Pacific has commented publicly on the lawsuit.
🍽️ Catch Up Quick: Burruss opened Blaze in southwest Atlanta in 2020 with her husband Todd Tucker. The pair also own Old Lady Gang, a comfort food restaurant in Castleberry Hill that opened in 2017.
