Belly Restaurant and Lounge in Midtown Atlanta failed its latest health inspection with a score of 63 after inspectors found moldy food, dirty equipment, and roaches in the kitchen.
What It Means For You: If you’ve eaten at this Peachtree Street restaurant recently or planned to visit, you should know the kitchen had serious food safety problems during an October inspection.
What Happened: A health inspector found multiple violations during a routine check on October 10, 2025. The restaurant sits at 710 Peachtree Street Northeast in Suite 200.
The inspector discovered:
- Food covered in fuzzy mold sitting on top of broccoli in the kitchen
- Roaches in the dry storage area of the main kitchen
The Bigger Problems: Several violations were repeat issues, meaning the restaurant had been warned before but didn’t fix them.
The ice machine had pink slime building up inside. Inspectors told staff to stop using ice, melt what was there, and clean the machine. A can opener had extreme buildup on the blade.
Multiple foods that need to stay cold were sitting at unsafe temperatures, including Philly cheese steak meat, raw ground beef, tomatoes, and peppers. Staff threw away the food.
Other Violations: The restaurant also lacked a cleanup kit for vomiting or diarrhea incidents. Food containers weren’t covered properly. Several containers had no labels showing what food was inside.
