Atlanta residents of all ages will have a chance to immerse themselves in the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics during the Atlanta Science Festival from March 10 through 25.
The annual event, presented by Delta Air Lines, features 150 interactive and educational events throughout metro Atlanta.
Meisa Salaita, co-founder and co-executive director of Science ATL, the engineers of the festival, said the event aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and encourage them to pursue their passions.
“With interactive shows and activities, this year’s events explore many aspects of science. There is definitely something for everyone,” Salaita said.
The festival will offer a diverse range of activities, including coding, astronomy, nature walks, and science and art mashups. The events provide a hands-on opportunity to explore science and its many wonders.
While many events are free, some require a nominal fee. Visitors can expect an exciting lineup, including talks from experts, interactive shows, and educational workshops.
The Atlanta Science Festival is one of the largest of its kind in the country and promises to be an unforgettable experience for all.

Kick off the 10th Annual Atlanta Science Festival with us, as we feature three amazing scientists who will showcase all the incredible places science can take you. Join us as we journey from the reefs of Australia to the wilds of Africa to the glaciers of the north! Moderated by WABE’s Molly Samuel.

Join WunderGrubs to explore the super powers of bugs! We’ll start our insect exploration with a bingo scavenger hunt and then tour WunderGrubs’s mealworm vertical farm in Midtown near Piedmont Park on the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail. You’ll hear all about how mealworms can be used to help solve many of today’s environmental problems as a food, feed, and fertilizer, plus so much more! Bonus: buggy treats for you to taste!

Engage with mathematics as you have never experienced it before! Come explore remarkable puzzles and games, gaze upon mathematical art, and watch Atlanta’s vibrant arts community interpret math on stage with magic, drama, music, and dance.

Breaking Down the Bean: The Science Behind Home Coffee Brewing
Have you ever wondered what it takes to brew a perfect cup of coffee? Did you know that the flavor of your brew ultimately boils down to science? Join us for a hands-on demonstration as we explore how time, temperature, grind coarseness, and proportion all affect what’s in your cup — and learn how to harness these variables in your own kitchen!

Explore Wylde Center’s Oakhurst Garden with a naturalist! From a behind-the-scenes tour of our greenhouse to a creek exploration to look for salamanders to getting a taste of the sweet honey from our beehives, you’ll learn all about this intown garden wonderland!

Tag along with two geologist-educators to see the beautiful building stones and folded natural rock layers of Midtown Atlanta, on a tour from Symphony Hall to Rhodes Hall. Dr. Bill Witherspoon, co-author of “Roadside Geology of Georgia,” teams up with highly sought guest speaker from Georgia Mineral Society (GMS), Bill Waggener, to interpret the stories that rocks tell. GMS grab bag is included with admission price.

With more than 90 hands-on, interactive science booths from local organizations, universities, and companies, we’ll be showing off Atlanta science at this year’s Exploration Expo.
