A woman was fatally shot in broad daylight at a gas station on Riverside Drive, sparking an active investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting, which unfolded at the Fast Trip within the 2600 block of Riverside Drive, was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center at 11:07 a.m. on Friday morning.

The Details: Deputies responded to the report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman lying unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of paramedics who arrived on the scene, the victim was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner LuAnne Stone. The victim was identified as 51-year-old Cotina Louise Fuller.

The Suspect: Investigators identified forty-four-year-old Wayne Anthony Fuller Jr., as a person of interest in connection with the death of his wife Cotina Louise Fuller. Wayne Anthony Fuller Jr. fled the scene of the incident in a gold sports utility vehicle. The Spaulding County Sheriff’s Office spotted Fuller and was able to stop his vehicle within the 100 block of Greenwood Industrial Parkway in McDonough, Georgia.

On August 16, 2024, at 1:41 p.m., Wayne Anthony Fuller Jr. took his own life.
