The Gist: Late afternoon gunfire and a subsequent vehicle collision on Williamson Road near Brad Walsh Parkway resulted in the hospitalization of a 24-year-old man, who is now in stable condition.

The Details: According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, at around 4:30 p.m., individuals in a Dodge Durango fired shots at a 23-year-old male driving a Chevy Tahoe on Williamson Road. During the shooting, both vehicles lost control and veered off the road.

Emergency services transported the 24-year-old Durango driver to Atrium Health, where he is currently stable. A 25-year-old passenger in the Durango received treatment at the scene.

Authorities reported no other injuries.
