Two people were shot late Saturday night during a fight at a popular Augusta restaurant.
What’s Happening: Deputies rushed to The Finish Line Café on Wrightsboro Road around 11 p.m. after getting reports of gunfire and two people down.
What’s Important: Both shooting victims survived and are now in the hospital under guard by deputies. One person left the scene before police arrived and was taken to the hospital by a friend. The other stayed at the cafe until help came.
Between the Lines: A deputy put a tourniquet on one victim and gave lifesaving care before paramedics arrived. The cafe was open and serving customers when the shooting happened.
What Happens Next: Detectives and crime scene investigators are working to figure out what led to the fight and shooting. Both victims are being held by deputies as the investigation continues.
