Police search for armed man who robbed Macon Burger King

MACON -- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place at the Burger King at 3820 Riverside Drive. The incident took place at 8:04 p.m., Wednesday.

MACON — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place at the Burger King at 3820 Riverside Drive. The incident took place at 8:04 p.m., Wednesday.

According to law enforcement officials, the man entered the restaurant, lifted his shirt and displayed a handgun. Witnesses say the man demanded money from the cash register. Once he received an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the restaurant on foot.

He was last seen running towards the businesses that are located behind the Burger King. No one was injured during this incident.

Witnesses described the man as a light skinned black male, possibly in his 20s. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, sunglasses, and he also had on a facial covering.
