A driver was pulled over Sunday on I-16 in Candler County after sheriff's deputies clocked the car going 138 miles per hour.

While the speeder was the fastest deputies caught this week, sheriff’s department officials say high speeds were not uncommon this weekend.

“Deputies issued a number of citations on Interstate 16 this weekend. Some of the speeding citations that were issued cite speeds of 84, 91, 92, 93, 95, 96, 98, 99, 101, 102, 110, and the topper…138,” the department posted on its Facebook page.

The driver who was going 138 was arrested and charged with multiple offenses.
