Gwinnett County detectives are searching for Niquay Dexter, 33, of Atlanta, in connection with a string of burglaries targeting over 100 storage units in the area. Two other suspects have been arrested.
Just the Facts:
• More than 60 storage units were burglarized on Dec. 4 and Dec. 6 at 2044 Old Norcross Road in Lilburn, prompting several victims to report thefts.
• Police identified Dexter as a suspect after linking a U-Haul truck captured on Flock cameras to the burglaries.
• On Dec. 10, officers responded to a suspicious activity call at another storage facility on Five Forks Trickum Road. Two suspects were apprehended at the scene, while Dexter fled on foot before officers arrived.
• Investigators recovered a significant amount of stolen property, including $20,000 worth of Dewalt tools, which have been returned to the rightful owner.
• Dexter has been charged with burglary in the second degree, and authorities are actively working to locate him.
