The Details: On September 4, 2020, Cloption, recently released from prison, was living with his stepfather on Boulder Run Trail. Around 1 a.m., Cloption launched a vicious attack on his stepfather, stabbing him in the face, neck, and underarm while demanding money. Despite the stepfather’s pleas for mercy, Cloption continued the assault, leaving his stepfather critically injured and stealing his wallet.

The violence escalated when the stepfather’s friend attempted to intervene. Cloption turned on him, stabbing the man multiple times in the face, arm, and back of the head.

Both victims were rushed to local hospitals—Grady Memorial Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center—where they received emergency treatment for their injuries.
