Warner Robins police arrested a 51-year-old man Friday afternoon after a vehicle pursuit that followed an alleged attempt to set a car on fire with two children inside.
The Details: The incident began around 1 p.m. at 729 N. Houston Road, where police say Napoleon Gray tried to light a vehicle on fire with a 10-year-old and a 1-year-old child inside. Officers quickly responded to the scene, but Gray fled in his vehicle before police could detain him.
A high-speed pursuit ensued, covering N. Houston Road., Story Road, and Highway 247, eventually crossing into neighboring Bibb County. Officers from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol assisted Warner Robins police in the chase, which ended in the parking lot of the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. There, Gray was taken into custody without further incident.
What’s Next: Gray faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault related to the attempted arson and the pursuit. He is also expected to be charged with arson for attempting to set the vehicle on fire.
