Georgia Kroger employee stabbed, another employee arrested

GRAYSON -- An assault at a Kroger store in Grayson resulted in one employee being sent to the hospital and another employee to jail.

GRAYSON — An assault at a Kroger store in Grayson resulted in one employee being sent to the hospital and another employee to jail.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, at about 6 a.m. Sunday police responded to the Kroger at 1911 Grayson Highway, in unincorporated Grayson.

When officers arrived they located the 59-year-old victim with stab wounds to her neck, hands, and legs. She was transported to a local hospital where she underwent surgery. The name of the victim, who was an employee of the Kroger, is not being released at this time.

Officers took another employee at the store into custody. According to police, 21-year-old Akin Williams was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Akin was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail where he is being held without bail.

Additional charges may be forthcoming as detectives investigate the motive for this crime.
