An inmate who escaped from a work detail in Bibb County in November was caught in the early morning hours Monday by Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies.

The deputies were patrolling the area of Anthony Road and Swan Drive, just after 1 a.m. Monday morning when they spotted a tan colored Ford Explorer, without a tag on it.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, when deputies performed a traffic stop, the driver and passenger both fled from the vehicle. The driver, 23 year-old Jaylon Amon Patrick was captured after a short foot chase. The passenger was able to get away while Patrick was being captured.

Police say Patrick fled from a work detail in November after a vehicle pulled up to the location and helped him escape. It was reported that he was working off his community service hours at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office car wash. It was also reported at the time that a light in color Honda Civic pulled up to the car wash just as the detail was about to end.

When the vehicle pulled up Patrick ran and jumped in the vehicle and the vehicle sped away.

Patrick was taken to the Bibb County Jail Monday on the warrant for Felony Escape Before Conviction and Probation Violation. He is being held without out bond at this time.
