WINDER — A suspect barricaded inside a location on Box Circle in Winder prompted an active law enforcement response that was still ongoing early Sunday morning, the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office said.
What’s Happening: Officers were called to the Box Circle area at about 9:12 p.m. Saturday. A perimeter has been set up around the area, and as of 12:01 a.m. Sunday, the situation had not ended.
What’s Important: People who live near Box Circle are being asked to stay away from the area and to follow any instructions from officers on the scene.
What’s Still Unknown: Authorities have not said what triggered the call, whether anyone has been hurt, or whether a weapon is involved. The sheriff’s office said more details will come out once sharing them will not put the operation at risk.
