A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following a shooting outside a Walmart in Albany.

The Details: Police responded to reports of gunfire outside the Walmart at 2486 North Slappey Boulevard. Witnesses described a man firing shots at another man driving a purple Tahoe. The shooter then fled in a white Lexus, setting off a chain of events that led officers to a nearby location where the Tahoe had stopped.

William Larry Hagan, the driver of the Tahoe, was found wounded in the vehicle. He was immediately transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he is recovering.

The Lexus was later found abandoned nearby, and its owner, Joseph Jackson Jr., contacted authorities to report it stolen. After questioning, Jackson admitted to firing at the Tahoe and was taken into custody.
