A man pulled a gun on a store clerk Tuesday afternoon after stealing merchandise from Academy Sports + Outdoors on Eisenhower Parkway in Macon.
Why It Matters: The brazen daylight robbery puts shoppers and retail workers at risk.
What Happened: According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, a man entered the sporting goods store around 12:46 p.m., took several items, and left without paying. When confronted by a store employee, the suspect pointed a firearm at the clerk before fleeing on a bicycle.
The suspect escaped heading north on Key Street. No one was injured during the confrontation.
🔍 The Investigation: Surveillance footage shows the suspect inside the store near the exit. The sheriff’s office describes him as:
- Approximately 30-40 years old
- About six feet tall
- Wearing a black t-shirt and gray pants
