A six-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in a chaotic gunfight involving multiple people late Saturday night on Washington Road in Appling. The child’s mother and two other individuals now face a long list of criminal charges.

- Deputies responded to a shooting on Washington Road around midnight, where Jasmine Curry’s six-year-old son was struck by a bullet while seated inside her vehicle. Two other children were also in the car but were not injured.
- Curry initially suspected her boyfriend, Calvin Robinson, had fired the shot that hit her son. Robinson had allegedly fired several rounds from the vehicle as they left a party following an argument.
- However, another individual, Ronelle Lazenby, later admitted to shooting back at the vehicle from the driveway, with one of his bullets believed to have struck the child.
