Fulton County Schools Closed Tuesday: Fulton County Schools and administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to severe cold and the potential for inclement weather.

Ringgold School District Goes Remote: The Ringgold School District will be operating on a Remote Learning Day, Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 22.
Bulloch County Government Offices To Close: Bulloch County offices will close at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and remain closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22, due to anticipated severe weather. Officials will announce any further closures as conditions develop.
McIntosh County Schools Shift to Remote Learning: McIntosh County Schools will move to remote learning and work days on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and Wednesday, Jan. 22, due to potential hazardous winter weather. All after-school activities, including those at the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club, are canceled.
Assignments will be posted by noon on Tuesday. Officials will announce plans for Thursday as weather conditions are assessed.
Toombs County Schools Adjust Schedules: Toombs County Schools will dismiss early at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, to ensure buses are off the roads before severe weather begins. Schools will remain closed to students and staff on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
All extracurricular activities and events on Jan. 21 and 22 are canceled. Normal schedules and activities will resume Thursday, Jan. 23. Updates will be shared via the Toombs County Schools mobile app, social media, school websites, email, and text/call systems.
Brantley County Schools: Brantley County School officials are working with GEMA and local authorities to monitor the potential for icy road conditions, with Wednesday presenting the highest risk. All school-related events scheduled for Tuesday evening are canceled.

Richmond County Schools Goes Remote: Richmond County School System will hold a PowerUp Asynchronous Learning Day on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to forecasted inclement weather. All extracurricular activities are canceled.
Teachers will post assignments on Canvas for older students and SeeSaw for younger students, with communication through platforms like Remind or Class Dojo. Families are encouraged to have students complete assignments early in the day.

Augusta University Moves to Remote Learning: Augusta University in-person classes will transition to remote learning on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to the approaching winter storm. All in-person activities are canceled, and employees are encouraged to work remotely unless contacted by a supervisor as essential personnel.
Students in residence halls will receive updates from Housing and Residence Life. Atrium Dining will operate on its regular schedule. Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center and clinics will remain open, with employees expected to report as scheduled.

Chatham County Offices Closing Early: Chatham County offices will close at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and remain closed Wednesday, Jan. 22, due to forecasted snow and icy conditions. A decision about reopening on Thursday, Jan. 23, will be made after conditions are assessed.
Chairman Chester A. Ellis has declared a local State of Emergency starting at noon on Jan. 21, as the region braces for near-record low temperatures (8–15°F), snow accumulations of 1–2 inches, and ice formations of up to 0.25 inches in coastal areas.

Savannah Declares State of Emergency: The City of Savannah has declared a State of Emergency effective at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to an anticipated winter storm. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning and a Cold Weather Advisory, forecasting near-record low temperatures and 1–2 inches of snow or sleet.
