Road and Parking Closures Scheduled in Norcross Today: Drivers and residents in Norcross should prepare for road and parking closures Thursday, Dec. 19, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wingo Street will be closed between Jones Street and Rakestraw Street. Parking will also be unavailable on Wingo Street, in the Betty Mauldin Park lot, and in the lot behind businesses on Jones Street.
While access to properties will be maintained, officials advise residents and drivers to avoid the area and plan alternate routes.
Savannah City Offices Closed for Christmas Holiday: Savannah city offices will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas. Emergency services will remain operational.
Sanitation Changes:
• Garbage/Yard Waste: No collection on Dec. 24-25; services resume Dec. 26 on a one-day delay.
• Recycling: No collection on Dec. 25.
• Street Sweeping: Paused Dec. 24-25; resumes Dec. 26.
• Landfill & Transfer Station: Dean Forest Road Landfill closed Dec. 24-25. Bacon Park Transfer Station closed Dec. 25; both reopen Dec. 26.
