On July 10 and July 11, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation officially opened the Nathan Deal Campus for Innovation at the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta.
The GBI’s Georgia Cyber Crime Center will be a collaborative effort with the Georgia Technology Authority, Augusta University, Augusta Tech, federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, and public and private organizations in entering into a new era of fighting crime in cyberspace.
Through the partnership with the University System of Georgia, GBI Cyber will provide college internship opportunities to students preparing for careers involving cyber security.
GBI Cyber will provide investigative and digital forensic expertise to assist law enforcement agencies across Georgia, and throughout the nation, in combating crime committed through the use of digital technology and the internet.

GBI Cyber will also play a significant role in the training and education of law enforcement in the handling of digital media as evidence in criminal investigations. The GBI is excited to be a part of the Georgia Cyber Center and the Augusta Cyber community.
