An officer from the Clayton County Police Department is recovering after a frightening incident on Highway 138 involving a fallen tree. Officer Soumah, who had just finished a demanding morning watch shift during Hurricane Helene, was on his way home when the unexpected happened.

A large hardwood tree fell onto the front of his patrol car, completely destroying the vehicle. Despite the serious nature of the accident, Officer Soumah sustained only minor injuries and was quickly taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The Details: Officer Soumah had been working through the night, ensuring the safety of residents as Hurricane Helene brought heavy winds and rain to the area. As he drove home along Highway 138, a tree suddenly fell onto the front of his vehicle. Given the strength of the storm and the size of the tree, the damage to his patrol car was extensive. Fortunately, his injuries were limited, and the outcome could have been much worse.
