Roswell Police Shoot Man Accused of Trying to Stab a MARTA Bus Driver

A man was shot by Roswell police officers Tuesday near 10900 Alpharetta Highway after allegedly attempting to stab a MARTA bus driver and later charging at officers with a weapon. The man’s condition remains unknown as he receives treatment at a local hospital.

The Details: According to preliminary reports, the incident began when the suspect, armed with an edged weapon, tried to stab a MARTA bus driver. The suspect fled the scene, prompting a police search in the area. Officers located the man, who then reportedly charged at them with the weapon. In response, at least one officer fired, striking the suspect.

Road Closures: Alpharetta Highway, between Houze Way and Mansell Road, has been closed and will remain so for several hours as the investigation continues.

What’s Next: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to conduct an independent investigation into the shooting, as is standard procedure. Any further information, including updates on the suspect’s condition, will be released by the GBI.
