BUFORD — A 23-year-old woman was killed in a crash Saturday morning on Level Creek Road in Buford.
On Saturday, May 23, at 4:30 a.m. Gwinnett County police officers were dispatched to a pedestrian crash on Level Creek Road near Cabot Creek Way in unincorporated Buford. The pedestrian was eventually transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, based on the preliminary investigation, the driver of a grey Ford Escape was traveling westbound on Level Creek Road towards Cabot Creek Way. The driver said a pedestrian darted into the roadway and collided with his vehicle.
The pedestrian was later identified as 23-year-old Young Woo Kim. Young died at the hospital the following day.

“Investigators will be looking to see if Kim was under the influence at the time of the incident,” police spokesperson Michele Pihera said. “At present, the driver of the Ford Escape is not facing any charges.”
