Need for Speed: Georgia driver arrested for speeding was clocked at 138 miles per hour

A driver was pulled over Sunday on I-16 in Candler County after sheriff’s deputies clocked the car going 138 miles per hour.

The car was a Mustang GT.

A driver was pulled over Sunday on I-16 in Candler County after sheriff's deputies clocked the car going 138 miles per hour.

While the speeder was the fastest deputies caught this week, sheriff’s department officials say high speeds were not uncommon this weekend.

“Deputies issued a number of citations on Interstate 16 this weekend. Some of the speeding citations that were issued cite speeds of 84, 91, 92, 93, 95, 96, 98, 99, 101, 102, 110, and the topper…138,” the department posted on its Facebook page.
