Two Georgia counties have had more than 10 people die from coronavirus, according to today’s status report from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Dougherty County leads Georgia in the number of deaths from the virus with 17. Dougherty county is a hotbed for the virus in Georgia after it spread rapidly from two highly attended funerals in Albany. Fulton County, Georgia’s largest county, has had 14 deaths. Dougherty has 267 total cases of coronavirus while Fulton has 463.

Statewide, 2,809 people have tested positive for coronavirus, 707 have been hospitalized and 87 people have died. The hospitalization rate in Georgia is just over 25%.

A total of 12,566 tests have been processed statewide.
