Police: A Buford man killed his wife, then himself. A school aged child was in the home

BUFORD — A 44-year-old Buford woman is dead following a domestic disturbance at a home on Ivy Stone Trail in Buford.

The shooting occurred at 10 a.m. resulting in the death of Desiree Ann Jean Marin.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Marin and her husband Michael Jason Marin both suffering from gunshot wounds.

The husband and wife were taken to the hospital where Desiree Marin died, and Michael Marin remains in critical condition.

The Gwinnett County Police Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation units are at the location processing the scene. According to police, the evidence gathered indicates a domestic argument occurred between the couple resulting in Michael Marin shooting Desiree Marin with a firearm and then shooting himself. 

A school aged child was in the home at the time of the incident but was not physically harmed.
