A 31-year-old Cumming man was killed Thursday night when his motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck on Canton Highway.

On July 14, just before 10 p.m., the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and Fire Department responded to the area of Canton Highway at the entrance to Green’s Corners Shopping Plaza regarding a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

According to the sheriff’s office, a 2021 Harley Davidson Softail, operated by 31-year-old Andrew Perillo, was traveling east on Canton Highway after being stopped at the red light at Bethelview Road. A 2004 GMC Canyon, driven by a 16-year-old from Cumming was traveling west on Canton Highway and attempted to turn left into the shopping plaza and hit the motorcycle.

Perillo was pronounced dead at the scene. The teen was uninjured in the crash.
