NORCROSS — Despite rumors that spread like wildfire through social media over the weekend, The Norcross Police Department says there has not been a murder at a Norcross park.

The rumors spread after the brutal slaying of a woman at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, and another woman’s body being found last week at Yellow River Park in Stone Mountain, but there have been no incidents at a park in the city of Norcross.

“The Norcross Police Department is aware of social media posts mentioning a female body found in Norcross,” the department said in a statement. “We can confirm those are only rumors and there is no validity to them. We recommend everyone living and working in the city limits of Norcross go straight to the most reliable source for crime data by emailing pio@norcrosspd.com.”
