The body of a missing Fort Valley State student has been found. Her boyfriend has been arrested

CRAWFORD COUNTY -- The boyfriend of a missing Fort Valley State University student who's body was found in a wooded area in Crawford County yesterday has been arrested.

CRAWFORD COUNTY — The boyfriend of a missing Fort Valley State University student who’s body was found in a wooded area in Crawford County yesterday has been arrested.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at approximately 3:20 p.m., the body of Anitra Lashay Gunn was discovered in a wooded area on Greer Road in Crawford County, Georgia, near the Peach County line. The body was positively identified Feb. 19.

Demarcus Little, Gunn’s boyfriend, has been arrested on unrelated charges.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2020 to determine the cause and manner of death.

The investigation into Gunn’s disappearance was started on Friday, Feb. 14, by the Fort Valley Police Department. On Saturday, Feb. 15, at about 3 p.m., the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was asked to assist in processing a white, 2013, Chevrolet Cruze identified as belonging to Gunn. 

On Tuesday, ground searches were conducted in different locations in and around Peach and Crawford County. 

During the search, a Peach County Investigator searched a wooded area and located Gunn’s body. Numerous leads and investigative acts have been followed and continue to be followed. Evidence that has been collected to this point will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab for further testing.   

Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker has asked the GBI to conduct the investigation.
