AUGUSTA — A storage facility on Brown Road was broken into at least seven times, and Augusta police say they know who did it.
What’s happening: 39-year-old Jeremy Robin Jaynes, of Plantation Road in Augusta, was arrested Monday morning at his home and charged with seven counts of burglary in connection with a string of break-ins at Brown Road Self Storage, located at 2241 Brown Road, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
What we know: Investigators identified Jaynes as the suspect after looking into a series of burglaries at the storage facility that happened in recent months. Deputies took him into custody at his home without any trouble, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The path forward: The investigation is ongoing, and more charges are possible, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
