The Georgia Department of Transportation has announced lane closures on I-75 in Fulton and Cobb Counties this weekend to enhance safety by restriping the roadway between the Chattahoochee River and Canton Road. The project involves applying high-reflective striping to improve driver visibility during wet weather conditions.
Single lane closures will occur from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 2, until 5 a.m. Monday, August 5. These closures will move, or “roll,” as work progresses from one section to the next.
Drivers are advised to anticipate traffic delays and plan alternate routes or allow extra travel time. Roadway signs and message boards will be in place to provide advance notice of the closures.
Motorists are reminded to reduce speeds in the work zone, wear seatbelts, and minimize distractions. For real-time information on the project’s status, drivers can call 511, download the Georgia 511 app, or visit 511ga.org.
