A head-on crash on Powder Springs Street near Laurel Springs Lane at 6:42 a.m. Saturday killed a 32-year-old man and sent three others to Kennestone Hospital. According to the Marietta Police Department, a 2007 Lexus crossed into the southbound lane and struck a Chevrolet Silverado.
What’s Happening: Marietta police say 18-year-old Keondre Robinson of Mableton was driving the Lexus northbound. Santiago Zarate-Vicente, 32, of Chicago was driving the Silverado southbound. For an unknown reason, the Lexus entered the Silverado’s lane and the two vehicles hit head-on.
The crash badly damaged both vehicles. Two passengers from the Silverado and the Lexus driver were taken to Kennestone with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Zarate-Vicente died from his injuries. No charges have been filed while police investigate.
