An 81-year-old woman died Monday evening after a sedan collided with a tractor-trailer on Cumming Highway in Cherokee County.

Just the facts: Bonnie Moore, of Canton, was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash near Soleil Parkway around 5:40 p.m., according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

• Moore was a passenger in a Lexus sedan that attempted to turn left into the Soleil subdivision.

• The tractor-trailer, traveling westbound, struck the vehicle.

• The sedan’s driver was transported to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

• The truck driver was uninjured.

• Authorities say neither speed nor impairment appears to be a factor.

The Details: Deputies say they believe the sedan’s driver failed to yield to the tractor-trailer during the turn. The crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
