CHAMBLEE -- Chamblee police officers found themselves in the middle of a horrific scene Wednesday when they responded to an aggravated domestic assault call at an apartment while a man with a knife was attacking a woman. Preliminary information indicates that at about 6:30 a.m., Chamblee Police Department officers responded to a 911 call involving a domestic aggravated assault at Chamblee Heights Apartments. Upon arrival, officers say they encountered a man, later identified as 40-year-old Irlin Paz, of Chamblee, with a knife actively attacking a woman. The suspect in a triple-homicide at a Cobb County golf course was arrested Thursday in the Chamblee area, ending a five day manhunt.
