(The Center Square) – America should embrace the spirit of hope, even after the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump over the weekend, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said Monday night.

This is “a somber moment for our nation . . . I thank God that his hand was on President Trump,” the congresswoman said.

She called Trump “the founding father of the America first movement,” praising successes under Trump.

Greene said Trump will revive the country after years of inflation and “Bidenomics” under President Joe Biden.

“Donald Trump has and he will make America successful again,” she said.

This comes as The Center Square Voters’ Voice poll found that two-thirds of Americans say America is heading in the wrong direction, including 42% of Democrats.

Greene pointed to this discontent and how she feels many Democrats are ignoring that.

“They claim that our economy is thriving . . . the Democrats’ economy is of, by, and for illegal aliens.”

Instead, she said that the economy should serve all “hard-working Americans.”

Greene also pointed to Biden’s border policies as failing the American people, saying that the “Democrats ripped open our borders.”

She called for the dismantling of the Washington political establishment.

“For far too long the establishment in Washington has sold us out,” Greene said. “They promised unity and delivered division. They promised peace and gave us war.”

Throughout her speech, Greene rallied the vote for Trump, saying that “the American spirit is alive and well.”

On social media, Greene said her speech is what “every American needs to hear.”
