A nation on edge waited for the verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the police officer accused of killing George Floyd last year. In Georgia, many residents breathed a sigh of relief as the verdict was read and Chauvin was found guilty.
Georgians took to Twitter to share their emotions about Floyd, Chauvin, and racial justice and equality in the country. The prevailing view appears to be that the nation can heal now and that justice for George Floyd could bring changes to law enforcement and the judicial system.
