JOHNS CREEK — Johns Creek has joined several other Georgia cities in closing its public parks and limiting restaurants within city limits to takeout and delivery.
As of Friday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m., all Johns Creek City parks facilities will be closed until further notice. Newtown, Ocee, Shakerag, and Autrey Mill Nature Preserve’s restrooms, dog park, playgrounds, pavilions, and athletic fields and courts will be closed.
Park trails and sidewalks will be open but the city wants residents to remember the CDC’s recommendation of practicing social distancing by keeping a 6-foot distance.
The Johns Creek City Council approved an emergency ordinance restricting Johns Creek restaurants and dining establishments to delivery and takeout only operations to prevent and minimize harm to the community resulting from the public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
