Gwinnett County Police now have drop boxes at every precinct where you can safely throw away old or unwanted prescription drugs.

What It Means For You: You no longer have to flush pills down the toilet or toss them in the trash. Both methods can harm the environment or put your family at risk if someone finds them.

What’s Happening: Police installed special collection boxes called NarcX receptacles at headquarters and all precincts across the county.

  • You can drop off pills, tablets, capsules, and liquid medications.
  • The boxes are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why This Matters: Old medications sitting in your medicine cabinet can be dangerous. Kids or visitors might take them by accident. People struggling with addiction might misuse them. And when flushed, they can contaminate local water sources.

Where to Go: Visit any Gwinnett County Police precinct lobby during business hours. The main headquarters is in Lawrenceville.
