The Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner’s Office will start mailing the 2024 property tax bills on Monday, August 12. The payment deadline will be Tuesday, October 15. Taxpayers can also access and pay their bills online at the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner’s website using various payment methods, including e-check, debit card, and credit card.
This year, the county will accept American Express credit cards for the first time. Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner Denise R. Mitchell emphasized the convenience of online payments, particularly with an e-check, which is a secure, free option that avoids the delays associated with mailing payments. Payments made with a credit card will incur a 2.30% convenience fee, while debit card transactions will have a flat fee of $3.50.
If you sold a property was after January 1, both the buyer and the seller will receive a tax bill. Additionally, those with mortgage escrow accounts must ensure they pay their taxes on time.
For further assistance, individuals can contact Property Tax Customer Service at 770-822-8800, email Tax@GwinnettCounty.com, or visit the tax commissioner’s main office at the Gwinnett Justice and Administrative Center in Lawrenceville. The office operates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
