On National Vote Early Day, Georgia voters continue to shatter records

Saturday was National Vote Early Day, a date set by nonprofits and businesses to raise awareness of early voting options throughout the United States.

Saturday was National Vote Early Day, a date set by nonprofits and businesses to raise awareness of early voting options throughout the United States.

For their part, Georgians have showed their awareness of early voting options by voting early and by absentee ballots in record numbers.

According to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, Georgia’s total voter turnout has been 114% higher than it was at the same time during the 2016 election.

When broken down into early voting and absentee, Georgia’s turnout for in-person early voting is 53% higher than 2016 and absentee turnout is up a chart-topping 645% over 2016.
