U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler is self-quarantining after a COVID-19 test came back positive Friday. A second test on Saturday came back inconclusive, according to Loeffler’s campaign, but the senator will follow CDC guidelines and quarantine until retesting is conclusive.

The campaign says Loeffler has contacted anyone she made direct contact with.

“Senator Loeffler took two COVID tests on Friday morning. Her rapid test results were negative and she was cleared to attend Friday’s events. She was informed later in the evening after public events on Friday that her PCR test came back positive, but she was retested Saturday morning after conferring with medical officials and those results came back inconclusive on Saturday evening,” said Loeffler’s campaign spokesman Stephen Lawson.

Loeffler is in the middle of a heated runoff campaign against democrat Raphael Warnock. The runoff election is Jan. 5.

Both Loeffler and Sen. David Perdue campaigned in North Georgia with Vice President Mike Pence on Friday.
