Georgia women lack health insurance and graduate high school at some of the lowest rates in America, according to a new study released today.

🔍 What We Know: Georgia ranks 43rd in the nation for women’s quality of life, according to personal finance website WalletHub. The study compared all 50 states and Washington D.C. across 25 metrics including earnings, healthcare and education.

Georgia women face a healthcare emergency, ranking dead last (50th) for health insurance coverage. The state also ranks 49th for female high school graduation rates.

Women in Georgia die younger than those in most states, with the state ranking 41st in female life expectancy.

Why It Matters: Without health insurance, many Georgia women avoid preventive care and face financial ruin from medical emergencies. The education gap limits career opportunities and earning potential.

🗳️ What’s Working Better: Georgia women vote. The state ranks 23rd for female voter participation in the 2020 presidential election, showing women remain engaged despite these challenges.

⏭️ What’s Next: The study serves as a wake-up call for state leaders to address these disparities. Advocates hope these findings will spark policy changes to improve healthcare access and educational support for women.

💭 Remember The Golden Rule: Supporting your female neighbors, colleagues and family members benefits everyone. Consider volunteering with organizations that help women access healthcare, education and job training in your community.
