Autrey Mill Nature Preserve’s homeschool program is set to return this September, offering children aged 6 to 11 a unique educational experience that combines environmental studies, nature exploration, heritage, and science. The program is designed to engage young learners in a hands-on environment, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world.
Held most Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., each session is packed with activities that balance education and entertainment. Students will explore the nature preserve, participate in educational games, and create crafts that reinforce the day’s lessons. The program’s schedule includes check-in at 10 a.m., followed by a morning of exploration and learning. A snack break is scheduled at 10:45 a.m. to keep students energized, and lunch is provided at 12 p.m. The afternoon is filled with more activities, leading up to a 2 p.m. checkout.
