A manhunt is underway for 49-year-old Roberto Dominguez Soto, who is wanted in connection with a Christmas Eve homicide in Roswell. Soto is an international fugitive with a prior criminal history and is still at-large.
What Happened: Police responded to a call at 3:15 p.m. on December 24 after a passerby reported finding a body in a ditch near Azalea Drive and Atlanta Street.
Officers found the victim, identified as 47-year-old Blanca Sauer of Sandy Springs, in a ditch near the roadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say she had suffered at least one gunshot wound before her body was dumped.
Who’s Involved: According to police, Sauer’s boyfriend, Roberto Dominguez Soto, has been identified as the suspect. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest on a murder charge. Dominguez Soto is described as a Hispanic male, 5’11”, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
More Details: Police say the killing was a targeted act of violence. Roswell Police Chief James Conroy called the situation heartbreaking, especially during the holidays, and vowed to bring justice for Sauer’s family.
“This is a heartbreaking situation, especially during the holiday season, and our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Ms. Sauer,” Conroy said. “We are committed to bringing justice to those affected by this senseless act of targeted violence.”
Suspect’s Criminal History: Dominguez Soto is also wanted by Interpol on firearms possession charges, raising concerns about his potential danger to the community. Authorities warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
