EAST POINT — A girl who disappeared while traveling to her mother’s Georgia home was found in East Point after online ads offered her for paid sex. One person was arrested.
The timeline: The girl was expected to travel from Fayetteville, North Carolina, to her mother’s home in May. She never arrived.
She was last seen getting into an unknown vehicle outside her Fayetteville home. Fayetteville police asked Fulton County investigators to help find her Aug. 17.
The search: Investigators found several online ads offering the girl for paid sex across metro Atlanta. They later found her in East Point, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
Her care: The girl was taken to a secure facility where she received care and services for children who have been trafficked.
The arrest: One person was arrested. The sheriff’s office did not release the person’s name or say what charges the person faces.
The investigation remains open.
