Authorities in Forsyth County are investigating what appears to be a tragic murder-suicide involving a father and son.
Just The Facts:
- Deputies were called to a home on Jefferson Place on January 22 after 46-year-old Anthony Gennaro Persichetti was found dead inside his home by his ex-wife.
- The ex-wife said she became concerned when Anthony did not show up for work and went to check on him.
- Detectives later learned that Anthony’s 24-year-old son, Anthony David Persichetti, also lived in the home.
- While deputies were working the scene, they were notified by the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office about the son’s death. He was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a wooded area along North Druid Hills Road.
The Details: Investigators say they believe the father and son had an altercation between 7 and 9:30 p.m. on January 21. During that time, Anthony David allegedly shot his father multiple times before leaving the home. He later died by suicide in DeKalb County.
