EAST POINT — East Point police officers heard what sounded like gunfire near Bayrose Circle early this morning, called in a SWAT team, and searched a townhome, finding nothing inside.
What’s Happening: Around 2 a.m., officers patrolling near the Citgo gas station at 2048 Stanton Road were flagged down by a woman who asked for an escort home. She told them her children had called her, worried, saying they heard gunshots near 2890 Bayrose Circle.
What’s Important: When officers got to the area, they heard what sounded like nearby gunfire coming from 2892 Bayrose Circle. They took cover and called in the South Metro SWAT Team. SWAT surrounded the townhome, officers got a search warrant, and the home was searched. No one was found. No one was hurt, and nothing was damaged.
