Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett has announced that the suspect in the active shooter incident, Andre Longmore, has been confirmed dead.
According to the Hampton Police Department, a sheriff’s deputy, and a Clayton County police officer, were injured in the manhunt that killed Longmore.
The Hampton Police Department, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, had been conducting an intensive investigation and search for Longmore, who was wanted for murder.
The active shooter incident occurred on Saturday in the Dogwood Lakes area of Hampton. At least four people were killed in the shooting. However, the details surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
